David Otunga Splits With Jennifer Hudson, Legal Order Filed

David Otunga, who is a member of the WWE Broadcast team and was an original member of The Nexus, has split from his famous fiancee, singer and American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson. People Magazine reports that Hudson has filed to have a restraining order put on Otunga. The couple has been together for 10 years and were engaged to get married since 2008, but never tied the knot.
David Otunga was one of the runners-up of the first season on NXT when the name was used for the WWE’s reality show concept and has been part of the company ever since. WWE pushed his Harvard law graduate status to fans but was never able to get over with fans as a wrestler. Fans over the years think his continued employment with the company was bolstered by his attachment to Hudson and that the WWE hoped that she would be able to bring higher-profile celebrities to the WWE. As far as anyone could tell, that never really materialized for them. Otunga was made into a broadcaster or a time on Monday Night RAW before being moved to the Pre-show team.
It is being reported that Otunga’s legal team have accused Hudon of filing the legal documents in an effort to keep custody of the couple’s son and that Otunga has never abused Hudson or their son. I’m sure we will hear much more of this story as time goes on.
