She made a name for herself in NXT before joining the main roster and winning the Diva’s Championship in her very first match. Paige stayed out of action throughout most of 2016 and 2017 due to injuries and personal issues that she had been dealing with. Some fans worried that Paige may never return to a wrestling ring ever again. Despite this, she proved all of those fans wrong and made her way back to WWE just a few months ago. Naturally, several fans were worried when it was revealed that Paige may have suffered another injury during a recent WWE live event.
During a recent live event for WWE, Paige was kicked in the back by Sasha Banks during a match as planned. However, she was sent to the floor and was unable to get back up, she was then carried to the back on a stretcher. PWInsider has reported that the belief is that the kick from Banks may have been a little bit too high, thus sending Paige down to the floor. WWE then reportedly decided to remove Paige from the ring, take her off of the tour, and they sent her home as a safety precaution. Paige returned to WWE from a neck injury just a few months ago. Another injury would certainly be devastating to Paige at this time.
The same report mentions that Paige is backstage for tonight’s Raw event in Miami and she will likely be appearing on the show. However, she has reportedly not been cleared to return to the ring yet and will not actually be competing on the show tonight. Filming for “Fighting with my Family”, a movie based on Paige’s upbringing, recently concluded. That and the upcoming Royal Rumble and WrestleMania pay-per-views mean that Paige’s injury was be catastrophic to occur at this time. Hopefully, the former Diva’s Champion will be able to return to the ring in just a few weeks unharmed. More details on Paige’s in-ring status should be provided soon.
