Rousey Joins Sports Hall of Fame, Hendrix/Bliss, Gargano Says Bye

Ronda Rousey is now part of WWE as she embarks on what promises to be a Hall of Fame-worthy career. As a result of her new wrestling job, her career as an MMA fighter has come to an end. Rousey’s achievements were honored recently as she was just inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame at the 2018 Arnold Sports Festival USA. Raw General Manager Kurt Angle was also in attendance for the ceremony along with his daughter Sophia, who he has apparently nicknamed ‘Little Ronda.’ This has led to even further speculation that Rousey and Angle will team up to face Stephanie McMahon and Triple H in a mixed tag team match at WrestleMania in April.

My daughter Sophia had the privilege of meeting the greatest female athlete in the world, Ronda Rousey, at the International Sports HOF today. We call Sophia “Little Ronda”. You’ll see why in 10 years. #itstrue #congratsrondaonHOF

Taeler Hendrix has built up a nice career for herself competing in numerous independent promotions throughout her career, and she has also wrestled for promotions such as Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor in the past. Interestingly enough, Hendrix now appears to have her sights set on possibly winning the Raw Women’s Championship at some point. Hendrix just recently sent out a series of tweets on social media wherein she challenged current champion Alexa Bliss to a match with her title on the line. Perhaps Hendrix could appear in WWE one day and truly win the championship. For right now though, Alexa Bliss does not seem to be too worried about Hendrix.

They all claim to be the best, Yet they are all afraid for a real challenge, a real champion. No doubt Hendrix is #1 in the industry today. 11 years of hard work. Adversity, humble beginnings. Never give up. Always dream. You can achieve your dreams. Never settle. Never quit. pic.twitter.com/4bOCEXqgO2

Johnny Gargano suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Andrade “Cien” Almas during an NXT Championship match on NXT two weeks ago. As per the stipulation of the match, Gargano will be leaving NXT forever, but the man himself recently revealed that his final dates for NXT were to take place this weekend. As he promised, Gargano just wrestled in his supposed last match ever for the developmental brand during an NXT live event in Cleveland, Ohio. WWE has acknowledged that “Johnny Wrestling” received a tremendous ovation from the crowd as he prepared for his final match. He was accompanied by his wife Candice LeRae as he wrestled in NXT for the last time.
