Stenson and Oestern Named to NWCA Scholar All-American Team

MANHEIM, Pa. — Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestlers Ryan Stenson and Jaden Oestern have been named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American Team, it was announced on Monday.

In order for a student-athlete to be nominated to the Division II Scholar All-American Team, he must have a minimum 3.4 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with that benchmark at 3.2 for those who qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships. The athlete must also have competed in a minimum of five dates of competition.

“Ryan and Jaden are both extremely hard workers on and off the mat and it is great to see them get recognized for their dedication and commitment to academics,” MSUM head wrestling coach Kris Nelson said.

Stenson is a sophomore from Lindstrom, Minn., while Oestern is a freshman from Valley City, N.D.
