This Is How WhatsApp Helped Reunite A Stolen Exotic Parrot Worth Rs 50,000 With His Owner In 48 Hours

A WhatsApp group of bird-sellers helped reunite an exotic Congo grey parrot with his owner in less than 48 hours.

The parrot was stolen from a pet shop and changed hands thrice. The owner posted a message of theft and everyone got on alert. Quickly, the parrot was traced and reunited with his owner in Bengaluru.

It began on the morning of September 27 when Pradeep Yadav opened his pet shop, Fins Fur Feathers, in HAL market, east Bengaluru and found that 16 birds, including the parrot, were missing. The thieves had not touched cash or any other valuables. Another cage with around 20 lovebirds was also intact. While the price of the Congo grey parrot was Rs 50,000, the other birds, all imported from Africa, cost Rs 25,000, Yadav said.
