Sony Ericsson serves up game

Whilst Serena Williams storms into the semi finals, stylish tennis player Maria Sharapova serves up an ace on the catwalk with the Sony Ericsson Design Collection. The Maria Sharapova collection was unveiled at the start of the tennis season by Sony Ericsson to a select audience of international lifestyle journalists flown into London for the special occasion. The Maria Sharapova Design Collection is inspired by Maria Sharapova’s lifestyle, and the latest fashion trends.

Maria Sharapova is Sony Ericsson’s first global brand ambassador. The four-year agreement was sealed in January 2008 and the Maria Sharapova Design Collection is the first design collaboration campaign to be announced with the mobile phone manufacturer.

“Working on this collection was an opportunity that I could not turn down,” said Maria Sharapova. “Sony Ericsson helped me create a collection of mobile phone accessories that I know people will use. And I wanted to add my touch to each item. People want style, fashion and glamour, and with this collection I know that they’ll have it.”

Sony Ericsson is the title sponsor of the Women’s Tennis Association, and works with the Association to promote the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour in 34 countries during the year. The Maria Sharapova Design Collection will be available globally from September 2008.
