What is Marcus Rashford's net worth and how much does the Man Utd star earn?

The striker has been a regular in the Red Devils team since breaking through in 2016, but how lucrative has his rise to stardom been?

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford burst onto the scene in 2016 and he is now considered to be one of England’s best young players, with an abundance of potential.

His stock sky-rocketed following his sudden arrival into the team at Old Trafford, with his performances earning a fresh contract and a call-up to England’s World Cup side.

Now having played his third season with the Red Devils, Rashford can already say he has won the League Cup, the FA Cup and the Europa League, as well as the Community Shield as well as making it to the World Cup semi-final stage with England.

However, his career has slowed down somewhat, leading to suggestions that he may even move on from the club where he graduated through the ranks.

So how much has his brief career been worth so far? Goal takes a look at how lucrative Rashford’s football journey has been.

A product of the club’s youth system, Rashford signed a four-year contract with the Red Devils in 2016 at the age of 18 that was reported to be worth £20,000 a week.

That deal, which runs until the summer of 2020 with an option to extend, is said to include clauses that will see the forward gradually earn more.

While £20k is no small sum, it undoubtedly at the lower end of the spectrum at Old Trafford, with stars such as Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez drawing down weekly salaries in the hundreds of thousands.

There has been speculation that Rashford is set to receive a new deal with a pay rise, but that has yet to be confirmed.

However, if we take £20k a week as his basic salary, before bonuses etc., we can say that Rashford earns just over £1 million per year, which isn’t so bad at just 20 years of age.

Timeframe Earnings
Per second 3p
Per minute £1.98
Per hour £119
Per day £2,857
Per week £20,000
Per month £80,000
Per year £1,040,000

At just 20 years of age, Rashford is only at the beginning of his career in football, so he can be forgiven if long-term business interests are not to the front of his thoughts right now.

However, like many footballers, he does appear to have set up a property business, suggesting that he will invest some of his earnings into that industry.

Of course, there is still plenty of time for him to follow in the footsteps of other footballers by venturing further into the realm of business.

Rashford’s social media presence is formidable for a player of his age, but it is probably not surprising considering that he is playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

At the time of writing, the England international has 5.1m followers on Instagram , a platform that he updates regularly, giving an insight into his lifestyle; which appears to include plenty of social time with team-mate Jesse Lingard.

Instagram is by far his most popular platform, with his official Twitter and Facebook pages not yet breaking the one-million mark in terms of followers.

Rashford has 1.22m followers on Twitter and his Facebook page is liked by around 670k people.

As mentioned, given that Rashford is only at the beginning of his career – he has only been in the United first-team for around two years – he has not had the time required to amass wealth.

Aside from his salary at Man United, details of his wealth are not exactly clear, but his various endorsements, particularly with sportswear giants Nike, are sure to be worth plenty of money.

British finance magazine Spear’s estimates Rashford’s net worth to be around £65m, which is quite impressive, even if it seems a tad unrealistic considering his youth.

A clearer picture will undoubtedly emerge in the coming months and years as he earns more money through new, more lucrative contracts, but right now he appears to be doing quite well.
