Arsenal Team News: Injuries, suspensions and line-up vs Everton

Everything you need to know ahead of the Premier League match at Emirates Stadium on Sunday

Arsenal return to Premier League action on Sunday when they host Marco Silva’s Everton side at Emirates Stadium.

The Toffees have played more league matches at the Emirates without winning (12 – D4, L8) than any other club – but will be hoping to change that against a Gunners side who have won four games on the trot in all competitions.

The north Londoners welcome back Theo Walcott, a former player who recently admitted he “fell out of love with football” towards the end of his time at Arsenal as he struggled for regular game time under Arsene Wenger.

Lucas Torreira is a doubt after suffering a knock in the Europa League win against FC Vorskla, while left-back Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are on the road to recovery following their long-term injuries. Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s ankle is being assessed after picking up a niggle on Thursday.

Long-term absentee Laurent Koscielny is back in light training, while Carl Jenkinson remains out with an ankle injury.

Arsenal have no suspensions for this game.

Emery could start Aaron Ramsey or Matteo Guendouzi if Torreira isn’t passed fit for the match, while Mkhitaryan could retain his place in the XI after an impressive performance on Thursday night. If he doesn’t shake off the ankle knock, however, Alex Iwobi may step in.

Alexandre Lacazette will come back into the starting line-up after being rested against Vorskla, with Shkodran Mustafi and Hector Bellerin also set to return to the defence.

Yerry Mina looks set to make his Everton debut after taking part in full training on Thursday.

Long-term absentees Michael Keane and James McCarthy have both stepped up their training but won’t be involved in Sunday’s game.
