BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Suffolk Arson Squad detectives are investigating two fires that broke out at homes in Brookhaven Town on Monday, a police spokesperson said.
The first fire started at the Clinton Avenue home in Patchogue at around noon, and the second, at a home on Mooney Pond in Selden at around 5:47 p.m., according to police.
No one was injured in either fire, police said.

Two people who live at the home in Patchogue were helped by the American Red Cross, the agency said.
In each instance, the Red Cross’ Long Island Disaster Action Team gave emergency assistance, including financial help, to meet the families’ immediate needs. The Red Cross also provides information packets about recovery resources and guidance, cleanup kits, comfort kits with personal care items, snacks, waters, and other items.

The agency helped one dozen people, including the people from Patchogue, in three fires across Brookhaven Town since Sunday, according to a news release.
Arson Squad detectives are also investigating a fire that broke out at a home in Mastic Beach on Sunday night, police said.
It started at the Neighborhood Road home at around 6:30 p.m., and it was doused by the Mastic Beach Fire Department, according to police.
There were no reported injuries, police said.
The Red Cross said seven people living in the three-family house were helped.
A household of three people was helped after a fire on Woodridge Lane in Coram on Sunday, the agency said.
