Lille have several hours ago confirmed the signing of United States international striker Timothy Weah from PSG for a reported €10m fee with a considerable sell-on percentage clause for the French champions.
The 19-year-old has signed a 5-year contract until 2024 with Les Dogues after passing a medical successfully on Saturday morning.
Weah had the following to say on the move:
“For me, Lille was the best possible choice in terms of progression and to receive playing time. It is a young and ambitious team: I know that Christophe Galtier and his staff are very professional and appreciated by their players. Joining Lille means a lot as this team has had a superb season last year because 2nd place represents an enormous performance: playing in the Champions’ League is a dream that I am going to be able to realise. I can’t wait to score some goals in my new colours and to help the club win matches and why not trophies too!”
