Bedford Police, Fire Substation, Town Council Seats Up For A Vote

BEDFORD, NH — Voters in Bedford go to the polls on March 12 to make decisions about town and school budgets as well as political positions, warrant articles, and other issues.

Here is what you need to know.

Voting

Voting will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, at Bedford High School, at 47 Nashua Road.

Town Races, Info

Four candidates are running for three 3-year seats on the town council: Phil Greazzo, Becky Soule, Michael Strand, and William Granfield.

Henry Veilleux is on the ballot for the 2-year town moderator position.

Ken Peterson is running for the 3-year trustee of the trust funds seat.

Two candidates are running for one 3-year library trustee seat: Lauren Messina and Lee Joyce.

Hugh Donovan is running for the single 6-year supervisor of the checklist position.

Article 2: Charter revision proposed by charter commission to eliminate the budgetary town meeting and put it up for a vote during the town election.

ZBA Article 1: Amend the ordinance to eliminate minimum lot sizing in a subsection of the ordinance.

ZBA Article 2: Amend floodplain development ordinance to comply with the National Flood Insurance Program.

ZBA Article 3: Removing 18 properties on Wallace Road from the historic district since only four were built before 1955.

Article 4: $36.5 million for a new police station and fire substation on South River Road.

Three candidates are running for two 3-year school board seats: Mindy Bator, Kara Lamarche, and Sheila MacDonald.

Article 2: $90.1 million school budget or a default budget of $89.7 million.
