UEFA on Monday announced their decision to suspend Senegalese international central midfielder Idrissa Gueye for two matches following his red card in the Champions’ League semi-final 1st leg encounter with Manchester City, after he accidentally stamped on Ilkay Gundogan’s ankle.
The decision means that even if PSG reverse the situation, with the score currently at 2-1 to the Citizens following the first leg, on Tuesday night, they will miss out on having Gueye in the Champions’ League final, which takes place on 29th May in Istanbul.
UEFA have also handed PSG a €30k fine for a delayed start to last week Wednesday’s clash.
