Shooter On Scooter Kills Man, 25, Westlake

LOS ANGELES, CA — Authorities are looking for a shooter on a scooter, who gunned down a 25-year-old man in Westlake Sunday night.

Police on Monday asked for help finding two suspects in connection with the shooting that took the life of Miguel Velasquez.

It happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday at Eighth Street and Park View Avenue, according to a Los Angeles Police Department. Two suspects on scooters approached the victim and exchanged words with him. One suspect shot him in the torso and both suspects fled on their scooters, according to police. The shooting was believed gang-related.

The victim died at the scene.

Both suspects were described as males. Neither suspect was still at the scene of the shooting when police arrived, but KTLA reported that a brief pursuit ensued, but it wasn’t immediately clear how it ended.
