In a social media post on Thursday, Kingston noted that he was in Birmingham, Alabama in advance of having surgery on his ankle. He'll be having surgery done on Friday by the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center.

Kingston wrote: "Tomorrow, we march forward and into the hands of the best in the world at what he does! Let’s get this ankle right!"

On the March 3 episode of SmackDown, Kingston injured his ankle during a spot where Drew McIntyre hit a flip dive over the top rope onto several wrestlers. Dave Meltzer described the injury as a "fluke deal."

With Kingston injured, Xavier Woods replaced him in a fatal five-way Intercontinental title number one contender's match on last week's SmackDown. The match ended with Drew McIntyre and Sheamus simultaneously pinning LA Knight and Woods.

There was initially hope that Kingston wouldn't need surgery for his ankle injury.
