WWE To Debut New Championships After WrestleMania 34

According to PWInsider.com, following WrestleMania 34, WWE plans to unveil new Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships.

After working on several different design schemes for the new titles, WWE recently finalized the titles, which as of now do not have a specific debut date, and it is unknown how the first tag team champions will be decided.

With the new titles, WWE would have three sets of main roster tag team champions with representation on Raw, Smackdown and 205 Live. The Cruiserweight Titles in WWE would not be the first time such titles existed, however, as WCW had Cruiserweight Tag Champions up until the promotion folded in 2001.

As of now, WWE 205 Live features one title, the Cruiserweight Championship, which is currently vacant. A tournament is ongoing which will culminate in the crowning of a new WWE Cruiserweight Champion at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

WWE resurrected the Cruiserweight Championship as a Raw-brand exclusive title back in 2016, and awarded it to the winner of the inaugural WWE Cruiserweight Classic, TJP.

The WWE Cruiserweight Title tournament on WWE 205 Live continues tomorrow with quarterfinals matches including Drew Gulak vs. Mark Andrews and Mustafa Ali vs. Buddy Murphy.
