Both Shinsuke Nakamura and WWE Champion AJ Styles were kept out of the ring this week on Smackdown Live, selling the effects of their “brutal” no disqualification match at this past weekend’s WWE Backlash pay-per-view.
However, once the cameras stopped rolling the “Phenomenal One” actually put the WWE Championship on the line against Nakamura in what was described as a solid, albeit short match. This isn’t unusual at all, and in fact Styles is frequently kept out of action on television so that fans in attendance have to stay through 205 Live to see him perform in the show-ending dark match.

As previously reported, Rusev defeated Daniel Bryan clean in the middle of the ring on Smackdown Live this week, earning a spot in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. In footage captured exclusively for the WWE YouTube channel, Lana joined her husband to celebrate the big Rusev Day victory. The happy couple hasn’t really been spotted together on WWE television for quite some time, with the exception of the Mixed Match Challenge, but lately they’ve been teasing a reunion.
