mobanmarketNortheast Wrestling has issued a statement on Facebook announcing Rey Mysterio will not be appearing at the August 24th Wrestling Under the Stars event. Furthermore, the promotion asserts Mysterio will not be at the event due to his WWE contract situation.
While the announcement issued by NEW might be signaling Mysterio’s return to WWE in the coming weeks, it’s worth noting Mysterio currently has dates booked on 9/1 and 9/2, the first of which is “ALL IN”, and the second of which is a Warrior Wrestling event outside of Chicago.

It seems odd WWE would force Mysterio to pull out of the NEW date on 8/24 but allow him to work the high profile “ALL IN” event and the subsequent Warrior Wrestling indie event, which both take place after Wrestling Under the Stars.
Unfortunately due to his upcoming contractual situation with WWE Rey Mysterio is unable to appear on August 24th. If you purchased Rey Mysterio preordered meet and greet items they will be refunded or can be used towards other superstars.
