Ring of Honor has signed top independent wrestler Bandido, considered to be one of the greatest rising lucha libre stars in the world today, to an exclusive contract.
According to PWInsider.com, who confirmed an earlier report by Lucha Blog, the high-flying sensation has been heavily pursued by several companies recently including WWE.
We are working to determine the length of his new contract with ROH, but if other recent acquisitions such as PCO, Brody King and Silas Young’s new contract are any indication, he is most likely signed to a three-year deal.
Another top indie talent currently being scouted, and again that includes serious interest from WWE, is actually Bandido’s tag team partner Flamita.
Both Bandido and Flamita have had massive years in terms of taking off in the U.S. independent scene. They were brought into PWG in March and worked almost every show in 2018 including the Battle of Los Angeles, where Bandido made it all the way to the finals. ROH has a good relationship with the L.A. promotion so it’s likely he would be able to keep his dates there going forward. He also famously took part in the ALL IN main event, teaming with Rey Fenix and Rey Mysterio against the Young Bucks and Kota Ibushi.
