Bugenhagen’s character is something very different from what the Full Sail crowd is accustomed to seeing. He came out playing air guitar, head banging and screeching at the top of his lungs like Rob Halford from Judas Priest.
The character is over-the-top, a bit silly, yet highly entertaining. Most importantly, it’s fun. This backstage glimpse at Eric before and after his match, gives fans an inside look at the vibe surrounding his debut.
Bugenhagen definitely made a connection with the audience. Whether or not that will translate to further success on the black and gold brand remains to be seen. But he’s certainly off to a great start.
