Monday night’s July 5 edition of Raw averaged 1.472 million viewers on the USA Network, down 6.2 percent from the previous week.
It’s the lowest recorded viewership number Raw has drawn since premiering in 1993. A September 1993 Raw was watched by 1.021 million households, but the total viewership number isn’t available.
This record-low number came despite the fact that there were no NBA playoff games airing opposite Raw. The NBA has been doing a number on wrestling ratings of late. Game four of the NHL’s Stanley Cup Finals averaged 2.56 million viewers, a very good number for that sport, but it’s only about half the audience the NBA has been averaging.
The only relatively good news was that Raw’s 18-49 demo number was virtually the same as the previous week, at a 0.41. The actual viewership total in that category was 536,000, so it was up 1,000 from last week. It’s Raw’s third-lowest 18-49 number of all time.
This was the last live Raw that will air from the ThunderDome. Next week’s Raw is taking place at the ThunderDome but has been taped in advance. WWE then returns to touring starting with SmackDown a week from Friday night.
As compared to the same week last year, Raw was down 12.7 percent in overall viewers and down 16.3 percent in the 18-49 demo.
Here’s a look at the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo ratings for Raw, along with the 10-week average prior to this week:
