JOLIET — A 72-year-old senior citizen was arrested and booked into the Will County Jail in connection with this week’s violent attack involving a wrench inside a home in the 2600 block of Campbell Street, the Joliet police arrest reports show. The victim was taken to St. Joe’s hospital, according to Joliet police.
Police indicated that Charles McIntosh was put in the county jail on charges of domestic battery.

The following events led to McIntosh’s incarceration on Tuesday, according to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English:

At 12:57 a.m., the officers responded to a house in the 2600 block of Campbell Street for a domestic disturbance. On Campbell, the officers learned that McIntosh had attacked a 50-year-old man. It is believed that while at the house, McIntosh became involved in an argument with his victim and McIntosh picked up a wrench and struck the victim on the head, police noted.
McIntosh confirmed to the officers that he struck the victim with the wrench, and he was placed into custody without incident, English pointed out.

The victim was taken to St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department ambulance for treatment of his injuries sustained in the attack, police indicated.
Jail records indicate McIntosh was released from the jail by Will County’s judges on Wednesday. The defendant lives in downtown Joliet in the 0 to 50 block of East Clinton Street.
