CONCORD, NH — A Concord officer patrolling North State Street came upon a crash near Rumford Street on Wednesday night in the Fosterville neighborhood.
Around 6:45 p.m., police dispatch took a report from a caller claiming to have seen two people beating another person inside an SUV while the vehicle was driving on the northbound side of North State Street near Pleasant Street. Officers searched the area but could not find the reported vehicle.
While traveling on North State Street, the officer approached a smoking car, which turned out to be a two-vehicle crash, and requested another police unit to assist and handle traffic. The officer also requested fire and rescue teams for the smoking car and a driver with a knee injury.

The crash was between a Nissan Altima and a Toyota Camry.
Traffic was rerouted via Rumford Street. The northbound lane of the street was closed until around 8:15 p.m.

One of the drivers was taken to Concord Hospital by Concord Fire.
Tow trucks were requested to the scene.
