“It is two separate entities,” Sue Schultz, one of the owners of Cemenos, told Joliet Patch. “This has more foot traffic, and it’s all about convenience. All summer and fall, there are thousands of people who are coming through here and once the temperature drops, then you’ve got hockey. The Joliet Park District has been nothing short of phenomenal to work with, they’ve been great.

“This is like a partnership,” Schultz continued. “I think it’s a smaller version of our restaurant on Essington Road. It’s still the same family members, still the same quality of service. If it’s not, we’ll make sure that it is.”

Schultz said that the menu for the Cemenos At the Park will basically be the same as the Essington Road restaurant, except they won’t be serving pasta dishes at Inwood.

“We’re not doing pastas because we don’t have the room,” she explained.

“And we are doing pizza by the slice. We are doing take and go wraps and fruit cups.”

What will be the top menu items for Cemenos Pizza At The Park?

“It’s always going to be pizzas and salads,” Schultz predicted. “And we will have several salads and fruit cups in the deli case.”

Cemenos At The Park will also sell ice cream. There are eight different flavors. The ice cream comes from Capannari out of Chicago.

With the addition of the Four Seasons room, Cemenos at Inwood can easily seat 150 people inside the restaurant, plus there’s outdoor seating for another 50 people on their patio.

Hours?

Cemenos will be open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the coming weeks. In September, Cemenos plans to add a breakfast menu.

“We are not doing any carryout here, just for that first week,” Schultz said.

There is also a bar inside the Inwood Cemenos.

“We’ve got all of our licenses to have the bar open. We’re all good,” Schultz added.
