mobanmarketLOS ANGELES, CA — A police pursuit of a stolen car in the San Fernando Valley came to an unexpected end when a woman approached the driver and took the car keys from the driver before police could get the chance.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the chase started at about 9:35 p.m. on Tuesday in the Northridge area and lasted about 30 minutes. It ended after police deployed spike strips, and the suspects came to a stop in Reseda near the intersection of Welby Way and Yarmouth Avenue.
Before police could approach the car, an unknown woman who wasn’t in the stolen vehicle approached the driver and had a short conversation. According to KTLA reporter Gil Leyvas, the woman convinced both the driver and the passenger to come out and surrender.

The woman was able to take the keys from the driver and deliver them to the police, KTLA reported.
The LAPD told Patch that both suspects were arrested without incident and no injuries were reported.

The identity of the woman who intervened is unknown, and there was no information about any connection she may or may not have had with the suspects.
