Township Manager Bill Walker said that McCreary “did it all” during his tenure, snow plowing in the winter and paving in the summer and everything in between.
“He has worked many dedicated hours to provide excellent care to our residents,” the township Walker said. “He was committed, dedicated, and dependable. He always answered the phone whenever the township called no matter what was going on in his personal life.”

Walker said McCreary was “well-liked and well-respected” by his co-workers, many who appeared at the meeting to show their appreciation.
“He helped the township through many snowstorms and floods,” Walker said. “We will certainly miss Jim and we thank him for a great run.”
The proclamation thanked McCreary for his service and Council President William Whiteside wished McCreary well on his retirement and future.
“We thank Jim for his service to Horsham Township and wish him a long, healthy, and happy retirement,” the township said.”
McCreary thanked the township and mentioned two things that stood out during his career: a call about a dead horse overnight and the building of a bridge at Kohler Park.
Horsham Township Police Lt. John Potts was recently honored by the council for his 35 years of service to the township. The council recognized Potts with a certificate for his dedication to the community.
