Lyon make improved offer for Le Havre forward Tino Kadewere

L’Équipe and BeIN Sports report that Lyon have made an improved offer to sign Zimbabwean international 24-year-old attacker Tino Kadewere, which comes closer to the overall €15m package that would likely convince Ligue 2 outfit Le Havre to sell the division’s top scorer this month without seeing him loaned back until the end of the current campaign.

OL had an initial €7m bid knocked back for the player by HAC, but have since come with an improved proposal – improved enough for serious and advanced negotiations to currently be ongoing between the two teams.

The offer on the table is understood to be €14m including bonuses, for a player who has scored 18 goals in 20 matches in Ligue 2 this campaign. There is competition from English sides and there is also still some reticence from Le Havre, who wanted to keep Kadewere until the end of this season.

To counteract this somewhat, OL are seeking to insert French youth international forward Amine Gouiri into a deal on loan until the end of the campaign to Le Havre. But the player himself would have to be convinced. After initially looking to leave OL for increased playing time this month, Gouiri appears to have made a u-turn and now wants to stay with Les Gones, having recently rejected a loan proposal from Nîmes.

This deal has no bearing on the negotiations with Villarreal for Karl Toko Ekambi, who they also want to sign alongside Kadewere. OL are hoping that that loan with €20m obligation to buy arrangement is sorted this weekend.
