Forno Fritto Of Farmingdale Holds Grand Opening

FARMINGDALE, NY — Forno Fritto, a pasta and pizza place, celebrated its grand opening on Friday. The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at 850B Main Street — next to Ralph’s Ices — to welcome the new restaurant.

Forno Fritto translates to “baked” and “fried.” The pasta bar serves made-to-order, to-go pastas,
Brooklyn-style Sicilian pizzas baked or fried, “Fritto Bombs” and more. “Fritto Bombs” are balls made with ground beef or chicken. Desserts include fried Oreos, fried cannoli and fried cheesecake.

Co-owner Peter Sidote, who owns Forno Fritto with Salvatore Pesce, thanked all who went to the ribbon cutting. Attendees included state, Town of Oyster Bay and local officials, as well as Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce members.

“It’s more than I expected. I wasn’t ready for it,” Sidote said. “I’m excited to be here in Farmingdale. The chamber is awesome, the town is awesome, the people are awesome. We look forward to having a lot of success and meeting a lot of new people. We’re going to be here for a long time.”

State Sen. Steven Rhoads said he is “absolutely thrilled” Forno Fritto made Farmingdale its home.

“I want to thank you for all the risks that you’re taking, putting your time and your talents and your money into this to create a great space with great food for our community, create jobs and contribute to our local economy,” Rhoads said. “I want to thank the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, which is probably one of the best chambers of commerce certainly on the island, if not in the country.”

Beth Mignone, executive vice president of Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, said the chamber love its members.

“We’re like a giant family. We love each other. We love to support each other and use each other’s businesses … I wish you the best of luck. I think you’re going to do very, very well.”

Forno Fritto opened about a month ago.

“You’re abuzz already on Facebook, and you’ve only been here for about a month,” Mignone said. “If you need anything from the chamber, reach out anytime. Anything you need, we’re going to support you, your business, and your family.”
