Bomb Threat Closes Santa Monica Pier Tuesday Morning

SANTA MONICA, CA — The Santa Monica Pier has been cleared to reopen after being shut down due to a bomb threat Tuesday Morning, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

“After a comprehensive search, we’ve found no threat and are preparing to reopen the Pier shortly. We’re steadfast in our commitment to ensuring the safety of our community. Thank you for your understanding during the closure. As always, we encourage vigilance – if you see something say something,” police wrote on X Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier Tuesday, police shut down the pier in order to investigate the threat and urged residents to stay away.

The threat was sent by email to Los Angeles Schools Police, who passed along the information to Santa Monica authorities, Santa Monica Police Lt. Erika Aklufi told Patch.
