A long-discussed fight between UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former champion Stipe Miocic is official.
Announced Friday night by Dana White, Jones will defend against Miocic at UFC 295 on Saturday, November 11th in the company's annual trip to New York City's Madison Square Garden.
Earlier this year, the 35-year-old Jones returned from a lengthy absence and won the vacant title in a fight with Cyril Gane in his first ever trip in the division after a Hall-of-Fame level run at light heavyweight.
In similar fashion, Miocic will return after nearly three years off himself in an effort to kick off his third reign with the belt. The 40-year-old was last seen losing the title to Francis Ngannou in March 2021 which followed his trilogy of fights with Daniel Cormier.
The news comes on the heels of rumblings that Ngannou, who had a very public falling out with UFC and White when they went their separate ways this year, will fight Tyson Fury in the former's first-ever boxing match. Ngannou also signed with the PFL this year and is expected to return to MMA next year.
