Fuego Del Sol announces departure from AEW

Fuego Del Sol has announced he is leaving AEW.

The 27-year-old took to social media on Thursday to reveal that he will become a free agent after his contract expires on July 1.

Del Sol said:

Hello, world. As of July 1, my time with All Elite Wrestling will have come to an end and I will officially become a free agent. However, I am proud to say that I've been cleared to return to the ring from injury and I am now accepting bookings any and everywhere.

He thanked the AEW roster and those who work backstage for the company. Del Sol noted that he made friendships during his time with AEW that he's sure will last forever. He then thanked the fans for all of their support.

Del Sol continued:

I will always look back fondly and cherish the night I got signed and how genuine that moment was. But even though this chapter is coming to a close, this is just the beginning for Fuego Del Sol.

At 27 years old, I'm just getting started. I've barely scratched the surface on showing the world just how damn good Fuego Del Sol is.

Del Sol has been out of action since suffering multiple foot fractures in a match for California's SPW promotion on February 19. Doctors told him he fractured his foot in five different places.

Dol Sol debuted for AEW in Daily's Place in Jacksonville during the pandemic era. His debut took place on the May 28, 2020, edition of Dark. He wouldn't get his first win in the promotion until he and Marko Stunt defeated Baron Black and Ryzin on the July 6, 2021, edition of Dark.
