The woman who murder-accused Aftab Poonawala dated after murdering ex-girlfriend and live-in partner Shraddha Walkar was shocked to her bones after she learned about the brutal act. She is his most recent ex-girlfriend, and a psychiatrist by profession.

Chattarpur flat after Walkar’s murder’

In a statement to the police, she said she had no clue human body parts were kept inside his Chattarpur flat when she visited there twice in October after the murder. She also informed Aftab had gifted her a fancy artificial ring on October 12. The ring belonged to Shraddha, according to sources.

Although the woman is a practising psychiatrist, she had no clue about Aftab’s murderous and criminal side. In her statement to the cops, she said he was never fearful and would often talk about his house in Mumbai.

‘He was very caring’

Talking about his behaviour, she described him at the time as “caring” and said that she never felt something was wrong with his mental state. The woman had met Aftab on a dating app.

She revealed that he had a collection of different varieties of deodorants and perfumes, she said. He used to give gifts too, she said.

He was also very fond of different types of food and used to order non-vegetarian items from various restaurants at home, she claimed. She added that he had told her how the chefs decorate food in restaurants.

‘He was in contact with 15-20 girls’

She is now undergoing counselling as she was in shock following the emergence of the details of the murder case, said police sources. 

Aaftab was in contact with about 15 to 20 girls through different dating sites, according to the police. During the investigation, the police checked his Bumble app record and found the woman he had come in contact with on May 30, about 12 days after the murder.
