Cédric Bakambu and Bamba Dieng left out of Marseille’s Champions League squad

Marseille have left Cédric Bakambu (31), Isaak Touré (19) and Bamba Dieng (22) out of their 20-man Champions League squad for their upcoming campaign.

Marseille are only allowed to register 20 rather than 21 players as their are no academy products at the club. Both Bakambu and Dieng were forced towards the exit door this summer, but neither managed to make a move.

Dieng was the closest to leaving the club, but he infamously failed his medical at OGC Nice after his move to Leeds United fell through. There is still the opportunity for the Senegalese forward to leave the club with multiple transfer markets still open. Belgian club Royal Antwerp are reportedly ready to make a €7m offer for the player.

Touré is the other player to miss out. The young French centre-back, who interested Manchester City, signed for Marseille this summer.

Marseille get their Champions League campaign underway with a trip to Tottenham this week.
