Nottingham Forest ahead of Monaco in the race to sign Palmeiras’ Danilo

As reported by Santi Aouna, Palmeiras midfielder Danilo (21) has agreed on a contract offer from Nottingham Forest, however, an agreement between the two clubs is yet to be reached.

The Premier League side are said to have offered €20m for the Brazilian midfielder, whose current contract with Palmeiras runs until 2026. That offer has not yet been accepted and negotiations between the clubs are ongoing. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano added that Nottingham Forest are “pushing” to add the player to their squad.

He added that AS Monaco are also in the race to sign Danilo. The Principality side were linked with a move for the player back in the summer, however, a transfer failed to materialise. Les Monégasuqes have currently got the maximum amount of non-EU players registered, and would therefore have to offload a player.

That player could be compatriot Jean Lucas, who has been widely tipped to leave Monaco this winter. Ouest France have evoked Ligue 1 rivals FC Nantes as a potential destination.
