Mbappé scored five of the seven goals, becoming the first Paris-Saint-Germain player to score a quintuple during a single game in official competitions.

In doing so, the 24-year-old broke several records. He became the first player to score 29 goals for a professional club in the Coupe de France since Jean-Pierre Papin in 1998. He also became the first player to score 27 goals for a single club in the Coupe de France since AS Monaco’s Delio Onnis in 1980. The 2018 World Cup winner also became the first player since Michel Platini in 1975 to score five goals in a Coupe de France round-of-32 game.
