C’est Virginie Viard qui devient la directrice artistique de Chanel. L’ancienne directrice du studio de création de mode Chanel et bras droit de Karl Lagerfeld a été nommée par le président directeur général de la maison, Alain Wertheimer.

Virginie Viard est désormais en charge de la création des collections prêt-à-porter et Haute Couture de Chanel, une responsabilité que Karl Lagerfeld assumait depuis 1983.

An extraordinary creative individual, Karl Lagerfeld reinvented the brand’s codes created by Gabrielle Chanel: the CHANEL jacket and suit, the little black dress, the precious tweeds, the two-tone shoes, the quilted handbags, the pearls and costume jewelry.
