UFC Double Champion Daniel Cormier Claims He’s Set for WWE Tryout After Upcoming Title Defense

UFC icon and current double champion Daniel Cormier, a lifelong fan of professional wrestling, may be looking at a jump to WWE in his near future.

According to MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn, the 39-year-old UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Champion will be heading to Orlando after his upcoming fight on Nov. 3rd, hoping to land a job behind the WWE broadcast booth.

As for rumblings of a potential Daniel Cormier vs. Brock Lesnar fight, there are a lot of moving parts to the situation and whether or not it happens will likely depend heavily on if the “Beast Incarnate” successfully defends the heavyweight title at UFC 230.

Lesnar and UFC officials will obviously be looking for the biggest pay-per-view main event possible. With Jon Jones cleared to return to the octagon that’s easily the biggest fight on the table. In reality, Jones vs. Lesnar is probably the single biggest fight outside of a Ronda Rosuey return, or the much-talked-about McGregor vs. Mayweather rematch, that the company could hope to put together.

If a deal can’t be worked out with Jones, Cormier is a close second choice. The demand goes way up if he’s still the UFC Heavyweight Champion however, because suddenly there is a chance that Lesnar in 2019 could become champion, and they could promote the entire PPV around him becoming a two-time champ at 41-years-old.

Daniel Cormier just said during his scrum in Las Vegas that he's going to Orlando after UFC 230 to do a tryout for a WWE commentary position.
