Ronda Rousey is one of the guests on this week’s episode of After The Bell, WWE’s weekly podcast series hosted by Corey Graves. During their interview the UFC legend and former Raw Women’s Champion spoke very highly of the NXT brand, and singled out the current champion Rhea Ripley as someone she’d like to face in the ring some day.
“Oh my god, Rhea Ripley. She is doing amazing. I would love to have a match with her someday. She matches up with everybody so differently, and there’s so many things she can pull out of people that they can’t do with anybody else. I’m really looking forward to seeing if we ever get that opportunity. I would love to get in the ring with her – she’s fantastic.”
Rousey was also asked about Charlotte Flair, her old rival who just this weekend won the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble match. Rowdy Ronda once again brought up Ripley, picking her as the champion she most wants Charlotte to challenge at WrestleMania.
“It’s starting to sound like I’m having a girl crush. I swear it’s nothing like that, but I really hope that Charlotte picks Rhea Ripley. I really do. Charlotte and Becky have great matches, but they’ve had so many of them that I feel like it’s time to get some new girls into circulation. Charlotte and Rhea – even just their body types in general, athleticism, and everything else. It’s such a unique matchup that I think they could definitely put on a WrestleMania level show.”
