Original Plans For Angle's Corner Man, Feast Or Fired Update, 11/27 Ratings Notes

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

— Frank Trigg was originally scheduled to be Kurt Angle’s corner man for his match tomorrow night with Rhino. Also, Mick Foley would have cornered Rhino, but he is now the Special Guest Enforcer for the match. Trigg was scheduled to tape angles at last week’s set of television tapings, but he had some previously scheduled personal appearances he couldn’t get out of. Angle’s corner man is now scheduled to be a mystery guest that is a former World champion who was a former tag team champion with Mick Foley.

— According to a post on the TNA website, tomorrow night’s Final Resolution pay-per-view will start with the “Feast or Fired” match. Scheduled participants include Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Homicide, Hernandez, Jimmy Rave, Lance Rock, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Petey Williams, BG James, Consequences Creed, Curry Man, Cute Kip and Shark Boy. While this hasn’t been confirmed, BG James appears to be the most obvious wrestler to get the pink slip seeing how he’s barely wrestled since his match with Kip James at the Lockdown pay-per-view and has been working more as a backstage agent in recent months.

— As reported earlier, Impact drew a 1.12 cable rating and 1.6 million viewers, which is really good. When SmackDown was on Thursday nights, they’d always take a 20-30% dip in the ratings, whereas TNA would take a minor hit. For this year’s broadcast, the show drew more viewers than all but a few shows in the history of the company. In the demos, the show drew 0.62 in Males 18-34 and 0.82 in Males 35-49, which are below average. Although, they were way up in the Male teenagers demo. In segment-by-segment notes, the Rhino vs. Hernandez vs. Sonjay Dutt match lost 114,000 viewers. The Consequences Creed vs. Cute Kip vs. Alex Shelley gained 29,000 viewers which also included Rhino trying to recruit 3-D for the Front Line. The Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Jimmy Rave vs. Matt Morgan match stayed even. The Knockouts match pitting Christy Hemme vs. Raisha Saeed lost 14,000 viewers. Tenay interviewing AJ Styles featuring the reaction from Sting and Kevin Nash lost 30,000 viewers. The finals of the Turkey Bowl featuring Rhino vs. Shelley vs. Bashir gained 14,000 viewers. The final segment of the night featuring Team 3D gained 143,000 viewers and peaked the show at a 1.20 rating.
