WWE RAW Results (7/6/2015): Chicago, Illinois

Lucha Dragons vs. New Day

We return from the break and out comes The Lucha Dragons — Sin Cara and Kalisto. The New Day — Big E., Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods — are all out next. The Prime Time Players — Darren Young and Titus O’Neil, are on commentary for this one.

The bell sounds and here we go. Big E. and Kofi Kingston will be representing The New Day in this match. The good guys dominate the action early on as we head to a mid-match commercial break.

We’re back from the break and we see Kingston dominating Kalisto in the ring. Big E. rushes in and knocks Sin Cara off the apron. He then suplexes Kalisto across the ring and does The New Day clap.

As all of this is going on, O’Neil and JBL are arguing on commentary. Finally, Sin Cara makes the hot tag and unloads on everything in sight until Cara is beaten down outside the ring and thrown back in to get pinned.

Winners: The New Day

U.S. Open Challenge
– John Cena (c) vs. Cesaro

When we return from the break, John Cena makes his way to the ring. It’s time for tonight’s U.S. Open Challenge.

Kevin Owens’ music hits and out he comes. Owens talks about how he now needs the U.S. title — instead of just wanting it — because he needs to be the guy to finally shut John Cena up.

As Owens gets ready to accept Cena’s open challenge, out comes Cesaro. Cesaro gets in Owens’ face and like every heel in history, Owens — the coward — backs down and walks away.

As a result, we get Cena vs. Cesaro once again this week for the U.S. Open Challenge. Much like last week, however, this match was awesome. WWE was smart to keep Cena away from the Chicago fans until he was in a match with a “smart-mark favorite” that would tear the house down at the end of the show.

With that said, that’s exactly what Cena and Cesaro did. Cena allowed Cesaro to have basically all of the offense in the match until the end. He let him showcase his unique power and strength, only to ultimately A.A. him off the ropes and pin him for the 1-2-3.

After the match, Kevin Owens attacked Cena. Cena ended up hitting Owens with an A.A. as well. Owens, who was on top of the ramp now, stared down Cena, who is still in the ring, as RAW goes off the air.
