NXT in Pittsburgh was completely sold out, with a substantial amount of a
standing room tickets sold.
The show opened with Big Cass and Enzo Amore vs. Dawson and Wilder in a tag
titles match. Wilder and Dawson won after hitting their finisher on Enzo.
Nia Jax pinned Carmella after the big leg drop.
Elias Sampson, who is from Pittsburgh, came out next, and claimed that he
wrote a special song about returning to Pittsburgh, which was comically
bad.
Sampson defeated Tye Dillinger after raking Tye’s eyes while the ref
was distracted, and pinned him following a swinging neckbreaker.
Baron Corbin pinned Apollo Crews after the End of Days.
Sami Zayn pinned Johnny Gargano after the Helluva Kick. They had a lively
match, and both men were over with the crowd. A lot of singing for Zayn, and
Johnny Wrestling chants for Gargano.
Intermission.
Women’s Title Match- Bayley pinned Alexa Bliss with the Bayley to Belly
suplex. Bayley was very popular.
Vaudevillians vs. Chad Gable and Jason Jordan- Gable pinned English with
their back suplex finisher.
NXT Championship match- Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor- Balor pinned Joe following
the top rope double foot stomp.
Joe played a classic heel during the match, and even busted out an eye
rake and two back scratches.
