WWE No Mercy 2016 Results (10/9)

WWE No Mercy 2016 aired live on October 9th, 2016 from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA.

– AJ Styles (c) def. John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose: AJ Styles’ WWE World Championship is on the line in this triple threat match. AJ hits the Phenomenal Forearm on Cena early on, but Cena comes back with a double German suplex on both of his opponents. Cena goes for the AA on Styles, but Styles escapes and hits the Pele kick. Cena goes for an AA off the middle rope, but AJ escapes and reverses into a spinning powerbomb for a near-fall. Ambrose comes back in the ring and hits a reverse powerbomb on AJ for a two count. Cena throws Ambrose outside and goes for the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Styles, but Ambrose comes from behind with an elbow off the top on Cena. Cena comes back and drops Ambrose with a back suplex then hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle on both of his opponents. Cena then hits the AA on both of his opponents and pins Ambrose for a two count. AJ hits a brainbuster on Cena right on the corner of the ring apron, then hits a perfect springboard 450 splash off the top on Ambrose for another near-fall. Cena picks up both of his opponents for a double AA. Styles escapes and hits the Pele kick on Cena, then Ambrose clotheslines down Styles. Ambrose takes AJ up top, but Cena powerbombs Ambrose off the turnbuckle. Cena goes for an AA on Styles, but Styles gets out and puts Cena in the Calf Crusher. Ambrose breaks it up, then puts Styles in his own move — the Calf Crusher. Cena then simultaneously puts AJ in the STFU, and AJ taps out. The referee calls for the bell, then tries to figure out how to call the winner. The referee declares that the match must continue, and Ambrose and Cena start going at it again. Ambrose reverses an AA into a Dirty Deeds and pins, but AJ Styles pulls the referee outside. Cena comes back with an AA off the top rope to Ambrose, then AJ comes in out of nowhere with a steel chair and decks Cena. AJ pins Cena right away after the chairshot for the win.

– Nikki Bella def. Carmella: Carmella takes things outside and works on Nikki’s back and neck early on. Back in the ring, she hits a Bronco Buster and puts Nikki in a headlock. Nikki comes back with a spear and a springboard roundhouse kick for a two count. Carmella comes back and locks in the Code of Silence, but Nikki fights out and hits a clothesline. Carmella gets her in the Code of Silence again, and this time Nikki reaches the ropes. Nikki hits a fireman’s carry into a neckbreaker for the win.

– The Miz has a brief confrontation with Daniel Bryan in the back, and guarantees that he will retire Dolph Ziggler tonight.

– Heath Slater & Rhyno (c) def. The Usos: Rhyno starts off with some chops to the chest of Jimmy Uso, then tags in Slater for a double clothesline. Slater hits a flying elbow in the corner, but Jimmy comes back with a clothesline then tags in Jey. Rhyno tags in and goes for the Gore, but Jey moves and hits the butt bump in the corner. Rhyno comes back with a spinebuster then tags in Slater. Slater cleans house and hits a superkick and a hangman’s neckbreaker on Jey Uso for a two count. Jey comes back with a big Samoan drop for a two count of his own. Jimmy tags in and goes up top, but Slater catches him halfway and powerslams him off. Jey tags in and puts Slater in the Tequila Sunrise. Rhyno gores Jimmy on the outside, then hits the ring and clotheslines Jey to break the hold on Slater. Rhyno gets the tag and Gores Jey for the win.

– Baron Corbin def. Jack Swagger: After some good back and forth action in the opening minutes, Swagger takes control with a back suplex and a splash for a near-fall. Swagger goes for an ankle lock but Corbin evades it and hits a side slam for a two count. Swagger is eventually able to get the ankle lock on, but Corbin pokes the eyes to get out and hits the End of Days for the win.

– Dolph Ziggler def. The Miz: Ziggler takes things to the outside early on and beats Miz down around ringside. Back in the ring they go back and forth with dueling chants from the fans. The Miz drops Ziggler with a clothesline then a big boot for a two count. He stomps on Ziggler in the corner and mocks Daniel Bryan’s “yes” chant. The Miz hits a series of dropkicks, but Ziggler blocks the fourth one and hits a dropkick of his own. Ziggler hits a splash in the corner, a neckbreaker and an elbow drop for a near-fall. Miz comes back with a powerbomb for a two count, then a big boot for another two count using the ropes for leverage. After a series of back and forth pin attempts, Miz gets Ziggler in a Figure Four. Ziggler reaches the ropes, and Miz keeps the hold locked in for the full five seconds. Maryse distracts the referee and The Miz exposes the turnbuckle and slams Ziggler into it. The Miz follows up with a sit down powerbomb for a near-fall. Ziggler ducks a roundhouse kick and hits the Zig Zag for another near-fall. Ziggler fights out of another Figure Four leg lock and hits a superkick, but then Kenny and Mikey of The Spirit Squad run out and distract the referee. Ziggler superkicks them off the apron, then The Miz comes from behind with a Skull Crushing Finale for a near-fall. The referee ejects Maryse, Kenny and Mikey from ringside, and while The Miz is distracted Ziggler hits a superkick for the win. Ziggler celebrates with his new Intercontinental Championship belt as he heads to the back.

– Naomi def. Alexa Bliss: Alexa cuts a promo on Becky Lynch for being unable to compete tonight, and with that, Naomi comes out to defend her friend and we have a match. Bliss controls the opening moments of the match until Naomi comes back with her signature kicks. Naomi drops Alexa with a kick to the head then hits a split-legged moonsault for a near-fall. Alexa comes back with a forearm to the face then goes for a cross armbreaker, but Naomi rolls her into a pin for the win out of nowhere.

– Bray Wyatt def. Randy Orton: We see more video packages of Orton and Wyatt cutting promos on each other. Orton goes for an RKO early on, but Wyatt avoids it and rolls outside laughing. Shortly after, Wyatt goes for the Sister Abigail but Orton escapes that. They brawl out to ringside where Orton attempts an RKO, but Wyatt pushes him off over the announce able. Wyatt beats Orton down around ringside, then throws him back in the ring for a Senton bomb for a two count. Wyatt hits a splash in the corner for another two count. Wyatt hits a DDT on the apron for another two count. They counter eachother’s finishers until Wyatt throws Orton back out to ringside. Wyatt sets up Orton for a senton splash on the ring steps, but Orton rolls out of the way and Wyatt crashes on the steel steps. Orton backdrops Wyatt into the fan barricade then throws him back in the ring. Orton holds Wyatt over the middle rope and DDTs him in the ring. The lights cut out and when they come back on Luke Harper is in Orton’s face. Wyatt comes from behind and hits the Sister Abigail for the win. After the match, Wyatt and Harper hug and No Mercy goes off the air with them staring down Orton from the stage.
