Backstage News on AJ Styles & Shinsuke Nakamura's Contracts Expiring

— On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer indicated that both Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles signed three-year contracts back in January of 2016 which means their deals will be expiring in less than six months.

— Meltzer adds that Styles is “very happy” in WWE and makes a ton of money and he can’t see him leaving the company. He added that Styles will probably sign for at least a couple more years as he’s making more money than he has ever made but has also previously stated that he wants to wrestle until he’s 42 which would be next year.

— As far as Shinsuke Nakamura, NJPW is absolutely interested in having him back but he is also making good money with WWE and in a good spot on the main roster, working a far less demanding style than in NJPW. However, it’s possible that NJPW would get very aggressive in offering him a lucrative contract since he would be a great acquisition to help with their expansion.

— Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson are also candidates to return to NJPW since they are sort “treading water” in WWE.
