Last night, as part of the Round of 16
Conners was the WCPW Champion when he signed on to be part of the WWE’s UK title tournament and what was thought to be a future English based show. Since the show never really happened, and most of the competitors were signed for a year contracts, they are allowed to appear on indy shows, mostly Rev Pro and ICW shows in England. However after the deals were signed, Connors, Tyler Bate, Pete Dunn, and Trent Seven left the company after some dispute between WCPW and the WWE, although Connors appeared for one more match before he left.
Connors hasn’t seen much time with the WWE. He advanced in the UK Title tournament but has only sporadically appeared on any WWE shows since. The other three WCPW stars have seen a lot more ring time in actual WWE shows, mostly for the NXT brand.
Conners was the surprise replacement for Michael Elgin, who had to pull out of his match against Joe Coffey. Both GM Adam Blampied and the announcers thanked the WWE for letting Connors appear on the show. With his victory, he will appear on the Round of Eight
