WrestleMania Venue Implosion Fails, ‘Woken’ Matt News, R-Truth

WrestleMania III, one of the most successful WrestleMania events of all time, was famously held in the Pontiac Silverdome with a claimed attendance of over 90,000 people. When wrestling fans hear about the stadium, they’ll usually immediately picture Hulk Hogan slamming Andre the Giant in the main event of the show, but the stadium has been scheduled for demolition for quite some time now. During a planned implosion, the massive building actually managed to remain standing. A representative from demolition company Adamo says that 8 faulty charges are the reason why the building didn’t go down. Other officials told WXYZ News in Detroit, “We just have to wait and let gravity do its job. It’s going to collapse, we just don’t know when.”

The #PontiacSilverdome was supposed to go down at 8:30. It’s been 15 minutes since that first blast and….it’s still standing. We don’t know what’s going on. https://t.co/MsU4QEX4p2 pic.twitter.com/lQ8cICVuPB

WWE Superstar Sheamus recently confirmed that he has been dealing with some nagging injuries over the past few months. Unfortunately, he does not appear to be the only banged up star on the roster right now. Raw’s R-Truth has been absent from television for several months, and to clear up any false rumors as to why he has been missing, Truth confirmed on Twitter that he is currently dealing with an injury. He did not disclose what type of injury he is dealing with or how severe it is. It was reported in October that R-Truth was possibly in need of surgery for an arm injury that he received after a match against “The Drifter” Elias at a live event in Regina Saskatchewan.

What’s up y’all! Hey if anyone is wondering where I am, please read my earlier tweets. ?? people asking me the same question everyday, why am I not on WWE. I AM INJURED

“Broken” Matt Hardy has finally arrived in WWE, or at least WWE’s version of the character. After Anthem announced that they are no longer in pursuit of owning the character, Matt teased the arrival of his new “Woken” self on Raw. The return of the popular character was further teased by Matt on social media, and he has now tested it at a recent live event. WWE uploaded a brief video of Matt backstage beginning to portray the character at a show in Salt Lake City, Utah. Matt Hardy’s “Broken” character was beloved in Impact Wrestling last year, so hopefully, WWE will be able to replicate the same success with the new “Woken” version of Hardy.
