Bryan’s WWE Status, Nikki Bella Teases Return, Keith Lee Update

Even though WWE doctors cleared Daniel Bryan and allowed him to return to the ring earlier this year, there have not been any reports confirming that he has signed a new deal to stay with WWE. Prior to receiving clearance from WWE, Bryan had been teasing that he would return to wrestling on the independent circuit after his WWE deal expires later this year. The Wrestling Observer recently claimed that Bryan would likely be staying with WWE, and PWInsider is also reporting now that Bryan re-signing with WWE is extremely likely. This was mentioned during the Elite Audio show, but it was also noted that Daniel Bryan still has not signed a new contract with WWE just yet.
Nikki Bella is still a popular figure in WWE right now, but her wrestling career has largely been over for quite some time. Nikki has not competed for WWE full time in over a year, and although she did make an appearance in the women’s Royal Rumble match back in January, she has not competed in a single match ever since then. However, Nikki just posted a message on her Instagram account wherein she campaigned for an ‘iconic return.’ This message may signal that both Nikki and her sister Brie could be coming back to the ring in the near future to feud with The IIconics over on Smackdown. With all of the online rumblings of possible women’s tag team titles coming soon, this would be a perfect time for The Bella Twins to make their in-ring returns.
A true standout on the independent wrestling circuit may be on his way into WWE very soon. For several months now, it has been reported by various outlets that Keith Lee is expected to join the NXT brand at the end of the month. Lee did competed at WWE’s Fan Axxess convention over WrestleMania weekend, and his departure from PWG was confirmed not long after that. Several independent promotions have similarly announced Lee’s final appearance for themselves since then, and Lee also posted an interesting message on Twitter recently in which he stated “England….I sure hope there’s a next time.” This tweet could mean that Lee will soon be relocating to Orlando before reporting for duty in the WWE Performance Center. Lee’s status in wrestling is expected to be confirmed very soon.
