Pack Named WWC Wrestler of the Week

OREM, Utah — The Western Wresting Conference named South Dakota State senior Cody Pack the Wrestler of the Week for his 5-0 weekend, including a Keystone Classic championship.

Pack, who is ranked #10 at 157 by The Open Mat, started his weekend with a pin of Noel Franco (5:32) of Drexel in SDSU’s 31-6 rout of the Dragons.

The two-time NCAA qualifier returned to action Sunday with a 4-0 performance and Keystone Classic title. Pack opened with back-to-back major decisions against Danell Duty (Campbell) and Luke Blanton (Indiana) 18-8 and 14-6, respectively. His toughest test came in the semis against Chad Walsh (Rider), but Pack separated himself late with a 9-3 decision. Pack went on to defeat Ronnie Garbinsky in the finals.

This is Pack’s second Wrestler of the Week honor this season.
