Rousey on Raw Tonight, Ricochet Helping NXT Sales, Street Profits

After failing to become Raw Women’s Champion due to a Money in the Bank cash-in from Alexa Bliss back in June, Ronda Rousey retaliated by violently attacking Bliss on Raw the following night. Rousey was suspended from Raw for thirty days, but she has continued to wrestle at live events and make occasional onscreen appearances as well. Unfortunately for Alexa Bliss, Rousey’s suspension officially came to an end this past Sunday night. WWE has already confirmed that Rousey will be taking on Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, but the company has also just announced that Ronda Rousey will already be making her Raw return during tonight’s episode in Cincinnati, Ohio.
WWE signed one of the most talked about independent wrestling sensations over the past decade earlier this year when it was announced that Ricochet would be joining the company as a member of the NXT roster. Ricochet has continued to show that he is capable of doing the impossible inside the ring during his brief time in NXT so far, and it now appears that his hard work is paying off for WWE’s developmental brand now as well. On Wrestling Observer Radio, it was mentioned that ticket sales for NXT events have actually been increasing due to Ricochet. Even live events that do no feature “The One and Only” have gone up in recent months with most company officials attributing the growth in sales to Ricochet.
The Street Profits have been entertaining fans and showing off their unique chemistry in the ring on NXT programming for over a year now and some fans believe that the tag team could potentially be a major hit on WWE’s main shows one day as well. During an interview with The Miami Herald, team members Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford talked about the team and goals in the company, and they were also asked about the origin of their team name. Ford said that the name was developed by the two of them because they both believe that they are truly prophets who will be moving up the tag team division soon, to which Dawkins agreed. Montez Ford also commented further by adding “We’re advancing the skill, we’re advancing the style, we’re advancing everything. The profit is an advance, and that’s what we do.”
