After the dual began at 141, Minnesota took an early lead on Michigan, an advantage the Gophers built to as many as seven points three times during in the dual, but the Wolverines rallied with victories at 285 and 125 to jump ahead by two points with only one match remaining, a rematch of the 133 title bout from the Cliff Keen Invitational between No. 1 Chris Dardanes and No. 8 Rossi Bruno. Dardanes, as he did in the first meeting between the two, scored a decision over Bruno. The win gave Minnesota an exciting 20-19 victory, avenging the team’s only loss from last season.

The Gophers return to the Sports Pavilion this Saturday when the nation’s top team hosts No. 9 Illinois at 1 p.m. CT. The match will be available to stream live on BTN Plus. BTN Plus requires a subscription to watch.
