Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Samoa Joe set for NXT TakeOver: Toronto

The next NXT TakeOver special has its main event.

It was announced by William Regal in a video on Thursday morning that Shinsuke Nakamura would defend his NXT Championship against Samoa Joe at NXT TakeOver: Toronto next month. The two originally met in August at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, where Nakamura captured the title by defeating Joe.

Nakamura returned to NXT television on Wednesday night after previously being taken out by Joe in an injury angle as part of their ongoing feud.

It was also announced this week that the two would meet in a cage match during NXT’s stop in Melbourne on December 8th as part of the brand’s tour of New Zealand and Australia.

NXT TakeOver: Toronto is set for November 19th at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The show will be part of Survivor Series weekend, with WWE running the same venue three nights in a row with TakeOver, Survivor Series, and Monday Night Raw.

The second annual Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will also conclude at TakeOver. The tournament continued airing first round matches on NXT TV on Wednesday night, and more tournament matches will be taped on Thursday as NXT holds its next set of TV tapings.
