More at Evolution, MYC Star Injured, Fox Out of Battle Royal

Evolution will be airing live on the WWE Network in just a few minutes, and while names such as Trish Stratus, Lita, Torrie Wilson, and Kelly Kelly have all been announced to return during the show, there are still a few more unannounced females backstage at Evolution that WWE fans may be familiar with. Per SmackDown General Manager Paige’s Instagram account, former Divas Champion Eve Torres is in New York for the event tonight. Also, Vickie Guerrero and Maryse have both been show backstage at the site of tonight’s Evolution show. There is no word on whether or not these three women will be featured on the pay-per-view itself tonight, but fans should keep their eyes open for any additional possible surprises.

The Mae Young Classic tournament this year featured 32 incredibly talented females from around the world all compete for the chance to wrestle in the finals at Evolution tonight. In the end, Toni Storm and Io Shirai outlasted the field of wrestlers, but plenty of names in the tournament still managed to impress. Vanessa Kraven’s first-round match against Lacey Lane was one of those matches, but unfortunately, Kraven has just gone down with an injury. Kraven suffered a leg injury during a match at an Acclaim Pro Wrestling show in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada last night. Kraven thanked her fans for their support on Facebook recently, but she did inform them that she will have to take time off from the ring until at least 2019.
As reported earlier this week, former Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss is no longer competing at Evolution tonight. Bliss was set to team up with Mickie James to take on Trish Stratys & Lita in a featured match on the show, but Alexa was not cleared by WWE’s medical team from a concussion in time. As a result, Alicia Fox will be taking her place tonight, but Bliss will still be there to support Fox and James. A preview for tonight’s Battle Royal posted on WWE’s website shows that Alicia Fox will not be involved in the match any longer. Fox was confirmed to take part in the Battle Royal prior to Bliss’ injury. WWE’s first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view, Evolution, is set to go live on the WWE Network at 7pm ET later on tonight.
